Municipal Code

The Citrus Heights Municipal Code constitutes a codification of the general and permanent ordinances of the city. The source materials used in the preparation of the code were the Sacramento County Code adopted by the city shortly after incorporation and ordinances subsequently adopted by the City Council. A printed copy of the Citrus Heights Municipal Code may be obtained at City Hall. The printed copy is updated on a quarterly basis. An electronic version of the Citrus Heights Municipal Code is updated within 15 days of the adoption of any new ordinances.

Chapter 34 Clean Air (Smoking Regulations)

Overview of Proposed ChangesUpdate regulations for compliance with recent legislation including the following:
  • Update the definition of "smoking" to include the use of vape pens or other devices and includes tobacco and any other plant product
  • Prohibit marijuana use (both medical and non-medical) in any public place where smoking is prohibited
  • The smoking of medical and non-medical marijuana will be prohibited in all PUBLIC places
  • Update regulations on secondhand smoke, both indoors and outdoors, by providing minimum distances where smoking may occur from certain uses (schools, day cares, etc) and certain locations (parks, recreation areas, etc)
