What is Household Hazardous Waste?

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is any unwanted household product labeled as flammable, toxic, corrosive, or reactive. The most common products include aerosols, anti-freeze, asbestos, fertilizers, motor oil, paint supplies, photo chemicals, poisons, and solvents.

Citrus Heights residents and businesses that generate less than 220 pounds of hazardous waste can take their Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) to the Sacramento County North Area Recovery Station (NARS) HHW Facility at 4450 Roseville Rd, North Highlands CA, 95660.

Pet Waste

Why You Shouldn't Pick Up Your Dog Poop | Family Handyman

Dog Poop Is Not Fertilizer

People often believe that leaving dog waste to decompose in the yard is good for the lawn, but the truth is that dog poop is toxic to grass. In addition, pet waste could carry bacteria and parasites that are harmful to other pets and humans. Be sure to pick up pet waste in a bag and dispose of it in the trash, NOT THE ORGANIC WASTE!
